The Tandragee Road in Newry remains closed this morning as police investigate a serious incident during which a woman in her 50s sustained ‘life threatening’ injuries.

Police are investigating the incident - during which the woman sustained serious head injuries -

at a house in Hollyridge Lane [which is between the Fiveways roundabout and Carnbane Industrial Estate].

Detective Inspector Colin Patterson said the woman’s injuries have been described as “life threatening”.

“We are investigating the cause of her injuries and the circumstances surrounding this incident.”
