Device explodes under vehicle in Belfast

A man has been taken to hospital after a device exploded under a vehicle in east Belfast.

The incident in the Woodstock Road area was reported to police at 7.10am.

The Woodstock Road has been closed at its junctions with Omeath Street and Ravenhill Avenue and emergency services are at the scene.

Superintendent Darrin Jones said; “At this time we believe a device has exploded under a vehicle.

“The incident was reported to police at 7.10am this morning.

“One man has been taken to hospital. His condition is not known at this time.”
