City hospital offers site for new south Belfast primary school

Unionist politicians have welcomed the Health Minister’s offer of a site at Belfast City Hospital for a new primary school.

South Belfast DUP MLA Jimmy Spratt said he knows “this site is the only site which can accommodate the communities in Sandy Row, Donegall Road and the Village”.

He urged the Belfast Education and Library Board “to design a school which will fit onto this site as quickly as possible”.

UUP MLA Michael McGimpsey also welcomed news of a new primary school site for south Belfast.

“This good news is an opportunity to improve on the educational attainment and health among the well deserving children of the Sandy Row, Donegall Pass and Donegall Road/Village,” he said.
