Video: GCSE results provoke high emotions

Emotions were running high in schools around the Province today as pupils came in to collect their GCSE results.

In two Belfast schools, visited by the News Letter, pupils told of their results success and their hopes for the future.

Among the students was Peter Goad from Royal Belfast Academical Institute who achieved six A* and five A’s.

He said after completing his A levels he hoped to study at a university in with “the mainland or possibly America”.

Principal of RBAI, Janet Williamson said: “Our results are up on last year and that is always pleasing. Many of the boys have exceeded their expectations. Most of them are back into the sixth form and it is of course a huge relief for their parents.”
