THURSDAY, March 7 will provide the voters of Mid Ulster with the opportunity to elect a Member of Parliament who will actually attend Westminster and represent them in the House of Commons for the first time since 1997.
As a representative for the neighbouring constituency of Fermanagh and South Tyrone I know all too well the importance of having representation at Westminster. An agreed unionist candidate came within four votes of winning in Fermanagh and South Tyrone in the last Westminster election, proving that every vote can indeed make a difference.
I would therefore encourage everyone in Mid Ulster who wants to have representation in the mother of parliaments to turn out on Thursday and vote for Nigel Lutton. No other candidate can stop Sinn Fein winning and a vote for anyone other than Nigel is a vote to ensure Mid Ulster remains unrepresented at Westminster.
Tom Elliott MLA
Fermanagh and South Tyrone
