The pancake-flipping record currently stands at 890. Organisers of yesterday’s event were aiming to have 1,000 participants – and last night said they were “hopeful” they had broken the record. A spokesperson said: “We won’t know for sure until we get the official word from Guinness World Records – but wouldn’t it be flipping marvellous to have taken the record?!”
