Lord Ballyedmond’s company Norbrook yesterday issued a statement mourning the loss of both their founder and the three other men killed in Thursday’s helicopter accident.

In a statement yesterday Norbrook management and staff said they were mourning the loss of three of their friends and colleagues. They were site foreman Declan Small, 42, from Mayobridge in Co Down, pilot Captain Carl Dickerson from Lancashire and pilot Captain Lee Hoyle.

“Our thoughts are with the immediate families and friends of the deceased who have requested privacy at this difficult time,” Norbrook said.

Norbrook said it was “with sincere sadness and deep regret that the Company confirms our founding Chairman and CEO, Lord Ballyedmond, was one of four people who tragically lost their lives in an aviation accident”.

The company said it takes “enormous pride in our chairman’s extraordinary legacy”.

Rev Mark Wilson, moderator of the PCI Presbytery of Newry, recalled being a guest of Lord Ballyedmond at Corby Castle. “He was a person of great charisma and was capable of immense personal charm. My heart goes out to his family; many among the Presbyterian community will be remembering them before God in prayer.”
