Many are paying warming tributes today to unique broadcaster Gerry Anderson, who has passed away after a long illness.

Anderson, 69, had been off-air for almost two years due to ill-health.

The former show band guitarist had a 30-year career in broadcasting, including an ill-fated spell on Radio 4.

His colleague and fellow broadcaster Sean Coyle said today with affection: “I was never in a bad mood with him - but I loved fighting with him”.

What are your favourite memories of Gerry? How would you sum him up in a tribute? Email your thoughts to newsdesk@newsletter.co.uk or alternatively you can send them to us by Twitter or Facebook.
