One charity has issued a reminder that it offers free breast cancer screening – even for those outside the NHS range.
It comes a day after the News Letter carried an article warning that one-in-three cancer diagnoses in England are among the over-70s – a group which is not routinely screened.
In Northern Ireland only women aged 50 to 70 are screened.
Action Cancer yesterday said: “We offer free breast screening to women aged 70 plus as well as women aged 40 to 49 who don’t have any symptoms. Our life saving service is available at Action Cancer House in Belfast and on our Big Bus which travels throughout Northern Ireland.”
