Alliance MLA Anna Lo has called for a big turnout at Saturday’s Belfast Gay Pride parade.

The Parades Commission has designated the march as ‘sensitive’ but said it “has not decided to impose restrictions on this parade as notified”.

The commission has also not imposed any restrictions on a protest by the Ballyclare and Doagh Free Church of Scotland (Continuing).

The South Belfast MLA said: “Belfast Pride produces a week-long schedule of exciting events and I want to congratulate everyone involved in what has been a successful week so far.”

She said that Belfast Pride is doing “excellent work in tackling prejudice and promoting inclusivity” and urged the public to show their support for it.
