In pictures: Thousands participate in Royal Black Institution parade

About 17,000 members of the Royal Black Institution were on parade at locations across Northern Ireland yesterday.

The loyal order marching season climaxed on Saturday, at six major Black demonstrations across Northern Ireland and in Donegal. Members of the Royal Black Institution were be on parade in Lisburn, Ballymena, Portadown, Loughgall, Castlederg and Raphoe (Co Donegal).

Lisburn, was the biggest parade where 107 Co Down preceptories paraded at noon through the city centre from Wallace Park to Barbour Playing Fields.

The Co Antrim demonstration in Ballymena saw 79 preceptories led by 75 bands.

Meanwhile the City of Belfast Grand Black Chapter demonstration was held in Portadown, where 59 preceptories and 33 bands took part.
