A Ballymena school was buzzing this afternoon thanks to a visit from a very special guest and son of the North Antrim town.
Movie star Liam Neeson met with pupils and staff of Slemish College as he arrived to help the school kick off its 20th anniversary celebrations.
The 63-year-old, who was born and raised in the town and attended the nearby St Patrick’s College, took time out of his hectic Hollywood schedule to meet and greet the young people and their teachers.
Local woman Anne Marie Sanderson managed to get an autograph from the ‘Big Man’.
She told us: “I was overwhelmed and over the moon! I am a big fan of Liam. He looked really well and was an absolute gentleman.
“He just signed it, said, ‘it’s a pleasure.’ He’s just so ordinary, relaxed, and down to earth.”
