Arson link to Portstewart fire

AN overnight fire at a direlict house in Portstewart may have been started deliberately.

The fire service have refused to rule out that the terrraced property on High Road was the target of an arson attack.

Over forty fire personnel were called to the scene when the blaze broke out during the early hours of Monday morning.

Residents in the area were forced to evacuate their homes as a precaution. There are no reports of any injuries.

Emergency services battled against high winds and heavy rain to contain the flames.

The fire is now under control.
