Bomb claim by dissidents

NEWTOWNBUTLER: Dissident republicans claimed last night that a bomb had been left at Crom Road in the village.

The claim was made in a telephone call to a Belfast newsroom shortly before 3pm.

A police spokesman said: "In view of the inaccuracy of previous claims from these terrorist groups, we are advising people in the wider Newtownbutler area to be vigilant.

"Do not touch any suspicious object, but make a careful note of its location and inform police straight away."

Anyone who has seen any suspicious activity has been urged to contact detectives.
