Cash van robbery

THE driver of a cash-in-transit van was forced to hand over money to a robber, police have said. The incident happened on Friday close to commercial premises on the Kilvergan Road in Lurgan at around 12.40pm.

A man posing as a litter picker and dressed in a high visibility jacket and a brown baseball cap with a cream, oval motif, approached the driver of the van.

He produced what was believed to be a hammer and demanded cash before making his escape in the direction of Derrymacash.
