Family suffer robbery ordeal

THREE armed men held a family-of-three at gunpoint during a robbery in west Belfast.

The incident happened at 10pm on Tuesday after one of the men knocked the door of the Glencolin Walk home.

The men - two armed with handguns and one with a sawn off shotgun - pushed into their home and held a woman and a man - both in their fifties - and a 17-year-old girl at gunpoint.

The men ransacked the home before making off with mobile phones and cash.

The family were then locked in a bedroom before the men left - but later managed to free themselves to contact police.

Detectives from the PSNI have appealed for information.
