Haulier's villa and helicopter seized

ASSETS worth £3million have been seized from a company boss by the Serious Organised Crime Task Force.

A helicopter, villa in Spain, fleet of high-performance cars including a Bentley, a boat and personalised number plates were among the assets taken from Co Armagh businessman Mark Niall McKinney, 44.

Case

The couple have signed a High Court consent order to settle a three-year case brought under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

The order comes into force on Monday with all property frozen until then.

Allegations

The agency alleges most of McKinney's income was derived from illegal activity including money laundering.

It took civil proceedings against Mr McKinney and his wife, Beverley Suzanne McKinney, 46 - both of Woodlands Manor in Portadown.

Tax

Mr McKinney, who owns MMK International Transport, is also believed to have been involved in illegal trading and tax and VAT evasion.

He has agreed to settle the proceedings, also signing over the contents of 16 bank accounts and his family's home.
