OAPs targeted by distraction burglars

TWO women in their 80s have been targeted by distraction burglars.

Police say one man called at a pensioner's house on the Grove Road in Hillsborough at around 2pm on Tuesday. The man claimed he was from the Northern Housing Fund and asked the elderly lady about door locks. A second man was discovered searching a bedroom in the house by the second pensioner.

Both men, one of whom spoke with a northern English accident, fled.

A woman who had been riding a horse and stopped with the two pensioners after the burglary, is being asked to come forward.
