Police launch city murder probe
A MURDER investigation is continuing following the death of a teenager who fell from an apartment in Belfast.
The victim has been named as 19-year-old James Murray from Glendowan Grove in Lagmore in the west of the city.
His body was found at a property in the King Street area shoertly before 6am on Saturday.
It had been reported that a party had taken place in the building.
Mr Murray was one of four young men to die in Northern Ireland over the weekend.
A 29-year-old man was found dead in a house in Cookstown on Saturday and yesterday police were investigating the sudden death of a 28-year-old man in Portstewart.
Meanwhile, police in Belfast also confirmed they are no longer treating the sudden death of a man in his twenties found at a property in the west of the city as suspicious.
His body had been found at Aitnamonagh Crescent on Friday evening.
A man and a woman in their twenties were arrested but later released unconditionally.
Lisburn councillor Angela Nelson said news of the deaths was tragic at this time of year.
In Co Tyrone, a 29-year-old man's body was found at a house in Cookstown.
Police said they were investigating the circumstances of the incident which they described as a sudden death.
The man's body had been found in a property in the Tullywiggan area of the town shortly after 11am on Saturday.
Two men in their twenties were arrested and one of them – a 29-year-old – was charged with the possession, preparation and supply of class A drugs namely heroin.
He is due to appear at Dungannon Magistrate Court on Monday.
The second man, aged 23, was released on bail pending further inquiries.
DUP MLA for Mid Ulster Ian McCrea said he knew the family of the man who died, and that it had been "hard for them to understand" what had happened.
And in Co Londonderry, a 28-year-old man died shortly after arriving in hospital yesterday.
A police spokeswoman said that his death was being investigated by police, who had rushed to the scene at Old Mill Grange in Portstewart together with ambulance services at 1.30pm.
Last night a spokeswoman for the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine confirmed that the man had been taken there.
She was not able to make any further comment or give any details.
DUP councillor William Creelman extended his sympathy to the family of the deceased man.
"You can't really say much more as we don't know the circumstances but we are very sorry to hear about it," he said.
