Police probe samurai sword robbery

POLICE are appealing for information after a man wielding a samurai sword robbed a filling station in Co Antrim.

The man had attempted to rob a fast food restaurant on the Church Road in Newtownabbey around 8pm on Wednesday.

He then threatened workers at a filling station on the Doagh Road just before 9pm and stole money.

The robber, who is described as being 5ft 10ins, wearing a light grey hoodie, blue jeans, red gloves and white trainers, fled in the direction of the Rathcoole estate.
