Teen seriously hurt in car accident

A TEENAGE girl is in a serious conditoin in hospital after being knocked down by a car moments after getting out of a taxi.

The 18-year-old was hit by the vehicle at North Queen Street, Belfast, at its junction with Henry Street at around 2am.

Appeal

The PSNI said they are keen to speak to the driver of a red coloured taxi, believed to have dropped the teenager off shortly before the collision.

He condition in hospital was described as serious.

A police spokesman appealed for anyone who may have been walking or driving through the area at the time and who had not yet spoken to them to do so.
