The wait begins: Dromore By-Election
All eyes are on Dromore as observers await the outcome of the Banbridge Council by-election.
The focus has been on the town as it's the first time Jim Allister's new Traditonal Unionist Voice movement has fielded a candidate.
Campaigning was fierce as the DUP in particular mobilised to see off any threat from Mr Allister's new group.
The by-election was caused by the resignation of Ulster Unionist councillor and ex-Ireland rugby international Tyrone Howe.
He resigned his seat for personal and family reasons.
The poll resulted in a comparitively high turnout of 38 per cent, which it's thought could favour the DUP.
Counting of votes started at 9am and it's thought there could be a result by early afternoon.
Mr Allister quit the DUP last March after it decided to share power with Sinn Fein.
Since then he has been a constant critic of his former party and leader Ian Paisley and formed the TUV last December.
The TUV's Keith Harbinson is one of seven candidates contesting the Dromore seat along with the UUP's Carol Black, the DUP's Paul Stewart, John Drake of the SDLP, Paul Gribben for Sinn Fein, David Griffin of Alliance and the Greens' Helen Corry.
