Vandals target Orange hall

AN Orange hall in Crumlin has been pelted with paintbombs.

Police are investigating after paint was thrown over a number of windows and doors of an Orange hall at Main Street.

The attack happened sometime between 11pm on Monday and 10am yesterday.

SDLP South Antrim MLA Thomas Burns branded the vandalism as “pointless”.

“This vandalism was no doubt done in sympathy with the rioters in Ardoyne and it was equally pointless,” he said.

“Neither the rioters nor the paintbombers can achieve anything positive for the communities they might fancy they represent

“They can only do harm and destroy, they can only cause pain and hardship and useless expense to taxpayers and ratepayers.”
