VIDEO: Troubles victims' 'very hurt'
A SURVIVOR of one of the worst atrocities of Ulster's Troubles has poured scorn on the Eames-Bradley report.
Speaking to the News Letter website as he protested ahead of the publication of the findings of the Consultative Group on the Past, Jim Dixon, who was injured in the Enniskillen bomb, said genuine victims' felt "very hurt".
Mr Dixon was horrifically injured in the 1987 Remembrance Day explosion but recovered following extensive surgery.
A total of 11 people were killed in the atrocity.
Mr Dixon - who would not be personally be applicable to a compensation payment as proposed by the Group - said he was not interested in a monetary contribution in any case.
"Enoch Powell said they (the government) would choke the people of Ulster with gold to get what they wanted, and that is exactly what they are doing," he said.
The Fermanagh pensioner also called for a full investigation into the Enniskillen massacre and called on the Church to disassociate themselves from Lord Eames - co-author of the report.
