Woman 'shaken' by petrol bomb attack
A WOMAN has escaped injury following a petrol bomb attack on a house in Ballymena.
Police are investigating after a number of petrol bombs were thrown at a property on the Galgorm Road in the town at approximately 10.30pm on Sunday.
It is believed that at least two devices were thrown through a downstairs window causing scorch damage to the floor, walls and curtains.
A number of devices also struck the front of the property causing damage to a window frame.
One woman was in the house at the time. She was not injured but was left shaken by the incident, according to a police spokesman.
Police are appealing for information about a white van which was seen on the Galgorm Road around the time of the incident.
Condemning the attack, TUV leader Jim Allister said: "Whatever the perverse motive for the petrol bomb attack in Ballymena this is the sort of activity which the town neither wants nor needs.
"Such lawless disregard for life and property is the stuff of mob rule, and utterly out of keeping with the lawful and peaceful society desired by the overwhelming majority in Ballymena."
