Male pedestrian seventh fatality on province’s roads this year

A male pedestrian has been killed in a one-vehicle collision in Co Down.

The incident took place on the Killowen Road, Rostrevor around 5.30pm on Wednesday and the road remained closed for several hours while experts examined the scene. Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000.

The latest death is the seventh on Northern Ireland’s roads since the start of the year - a rate of one every two days.
