Man (31) arrested over Strabane murder attempt

Detectives from PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch investigating Tuesday night’s attempted murder of police officers in Strabane arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with the attack on Saturday.

He was detained in Strabane and taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite in Belfast for questioning.

Meanwhile, police have been granted additional time to question another man in connection with the attack. The 20-year-old male was arrested in Newtownstewart on Friday morning.

A device exploded while police were on patrol in the area of Townsend Street, Strabane, shortly after 8.30pm on March 21.
