Man dies in serious road traffic collision in west Belfast


A man in his 20s has died following a serious one vehicle traffic collision in west Belfast this morning.

The collision happened at the junction of the Upper Springfield Road around 8.15am.

A PSNI spokesman said “it was reported that a red Peugeot 406 estate crashed in the area”.

He added that is believed that the man died at the scene.

“The Upper Springfield Road at the Hannahstown Hill and the junction of the Monagh By-pass remains closed,” he said.

“Motorists are advised to seek alternative main routes for their journey.”
