A man in his 30s has died following a one-vehicle road crash in south Belfast.

He was killed when a silver-coloured Peugeot 307 car on the Upper Malone Road left the carriageway and struck a tree at around 9.30pm on Thursday.

The road was closed for a number of hours following the collision.

An investigation into the incident is underway and police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the silver Peugeot car being driven in the area in the time leading up to the collision to contact officers at Lisburn Road on 101.
