Here is the latest gossip form the land of showbusiness.
MEGAN FOX has joined Twitter - but confessed it’s against her “better judgment”.
The former Transformers actress - who became mum to son Noah with husband BRIAN AUSTIN GREEN last year - isn’t known for using social media but has apparently decided to give it a go.
She said: “Against my better judgment, I have finally joined Twitter. Every possible version of my name is already in use so for now my Twitter handle is @MeganFox516. See you there.”
In her first tweet, Megan said: “I’m incredibly late to the party but I’m here nonetheless, so what now?”
Luckily, Megan, who describes herself as a “Lover. Healer. Mother” in her Twitter bio, later secured the handle @MeganFox.
MATT DAMON has revealed he pulled out of directing his latest movie because he didn’t want to miss out on time with his kids.
The Bourne star - who has four children with his wife Luciana - was expected to take the reins on Promised Land, which he and US Office star JOHN KRASINSKI co-wrote and star in together.
But he told Collider: “I decided that I wasn’t going to direct it on December 15 of last year. That was my last day of work. The NEILL BLOMKAMP movie (Elysium) that I was on went over. I had been away from my kids, and then I got back and had to do a really intense week or two of press for We Bought A Zoo. On December 15, my last thing was The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and I finished it and got home and my year was over. I looked at the calendar and realised that, to get the movie out this year, I had to go into pre-production on January 2. I just couldn’t leave the kids again.”
Good Will Hunting director GUS VAN SANT went on to replace him as the movie’s director.
MARIAH CAREY has admitted she was “on the fence” when it came to signing up for American Idol.
The chart-topping songstress joins RANDY JACKSON and fellow new judges NICKI MINAJ and Keith Urban on the panel in the new series of the US singing show, following the departure of JENNIFER LOPEZ and STEVEN TYLER.
The mum-of-two told The Hollywood Reporter her husband NICK CANNON helped her to decide to sign on the dotted line.
She said: “I was on the fence about the whole thing. I got approached by all the shows.”
Mariah went on: “He (Nick) said I should do it because it’s the top, it’s the cream of the crop. And I felt like, ‘Do the show that’s produced massive stars who have had major careers’.”
LAUREN GOODGER has revealed she’s enjoying life after The Only Way Is Essex - but wouldn’t rule out a return to the show.
The reality TV star bowed out of the ITV2 show last year after six series and is now set to compete in the new series of Dancing On Ice.
When asked if she would ever go back to TOWIE, Lauren said: “For now I think I’m moving on and I’m doing my thing and I’m doing this.
“I don’t know, I’ll see what the future holds. Never say never...”
RYAN GOSLING has revealed he wasn’t a fan of his Gangster Squad costume.
The actor plays a police officer fighting to keep the east coast Mafia out of Los Angeles in the 1940s and 1950s in the film, and was required to wear a rather scratchy suit.
“The wool was quite itchy, so I had a rash,” he told People. “I channelled that irritation into my hatred for the gangsters.”
Co-star JOSH BROLIN agreed with Ryan, saying his costume for the cop movie was also “itchy and tight”.
BRITNEY SPEARS has enlisted the help of WILL.I.AM and HIT-BOY to work on her new album.
The X Factor USA judge recently confirmed she is “working hard” on her next album, and “collaborating with some new inspiring producers”, fuelling speculation about who they might be.
Britney’s rep has now confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that she’s been in the studio with hip-hop guru Hit-Boy and Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am.
Elijah Blake - who has worked with USHER and RIHANNA - said in a recent interview he had been collaborating with Britney on her new album, but her representative denied she had worked with him.
