Mistake to devolve corporation tax

As a unionist I am totally against the devolving of corporation tax to Northern Ireland. The new Secretary of State, Theresa Villiers, has said that it will be a significant constitutional change. Unionists are not in the business of significant constitutional change!

If the DUP goes for this they are finished in Northern Ireland. The reduction in the block grant would mean many more redundancies and a big reduction in public services.

There is no evidence that having low corporation tax in the Republic has meant more jobs. The only people who would benefit would be republicans and nationalists and some businesses.

Northern Ireland must keep parity with the rest of the UK.
