Molitor has become public enemy number one

UP FOR IT: Carl Frampton

UP FOR IT: Carl Frampton

I HAVE never met Steve Molitor – but I don’t like the guy.

Don’t get me wrong, Molitor, who I fight at the Odyssey Arena on September 22, is probably a nice guy.

Why do I dislike him.

It’s simple.

He stands in my way of getting closer to a World title shot.

He could stop me following my dreams. He could derail my ambitions of being a World champion.

That is why I don’t like the man.

He is also the reason I have had to lock myself away from my family, train like a madman and watch everything I eat.

Molitor has made me do all these things and he will have to pay on September 22.

We will shake hands after the fight but until then he is my public enemy number one.

But I have loads of respect for the guy and I know this will be my toughest fight to date.

But I know that if I beat him it will put me on the map. He took the fight at six weeks’ notice but he had been training before that and I know that he is coming to Belfast to win.

This is a big fight for him too, so he will be pumped up and he will want to beat the home fighter in his back yard.

If he loses to me his career could be over so that makes him dangerous.

He has nothing to lose and so much to gain, but so do I.

So I will be ready – make no mistake about that – and I can’t wait to get in there and fight him.

Training has gone well and I believe I am in the best shape of my life. My weight is spot-on and I am prepared for whatever Molitor throws at me.

With just over a week to go to the fight I am just buzzing and can’t wait to get started.

Bring it on!

Also this weekend there a few big fights.

Sergio Martinez takes Julio Caesar Chavez Jnr for the WBC Middleweight title and I think Chavez will win this one.

I think he is a great fighter and he will be too good for Martinez.

Also this weekend Saul Alvarez faces Josesito Lopez for the WBC crown.

I rate Alvarez very highly and I believe he will win this one.

He will just be too good for Lopez and far too big.

Finally, I would send out my congratulations to all the local lads who won at the Holiday Inn in Belfast last Saturday night.

So well done to Luke Wilton, Matthew Wilton, Marc McCullough, James Tennyson, William Thompson and Brendan Fitzpatrick.

Good work lads.

Cheers, Carl ‘The Jackal’ Frampton
