I REFER to the letter by P Harrison in the News Letter (December 21) ‘Some thoughts on the flag vote’.
I agree with practically all the writer says.
I would, however, disagree with the statement that a future monarch may be a Roman Catholic.
As I understand it while a British monarch will be allowed to marry a Roman Catholic, he or she must still remain a Protestant.
This follows from the fact a British monarch is automatically head of the Church of England.
This too would need to change, if a British monarch was allowed to become a Roman Catholic.
