Strike at 11 Belfast City Leisure Centres

Strike action is being taken at 11 Belfast City Council leisure centres in a dispute over pensions and staffing concerns.
Staff are taking work-to-rule action and there is a ban on overtime at the Andersonstown, Whiterock, Falls Road, Olympia, Ballysillan, Avoneill, Grove Well-being, Loughside, Ozone, Belvoir and Shankill Road facilities. In a statement, People Before Profit’s West Belfast MLA Gerry Carroll said he is 100% behind the staff taking industrial action.

“Support your local leisure centre workers on May 24th. Tell your local councillors loud and clear that we want our leisure centres back under public control.”
