Transport boss to speak at IoD annual lunch

Mike Brown, the Commissioner of Transport for London (TfL) has been announced as the keynote speaker at this year's Institute of Directors Northern Ireland (IoD NI) Annual Lunch, sponsored by Rainbow Communications.

A Northern Ireland native, Mike was appointed Commissioner in September 2015 and is responsible for a multi-million investment programmme and the delivery of transport services across London, with some 13 million passenger journeys every day.

Mike will tell IoD NI members and guests about how he tackles the challenges of overseeing the largest integrated transport authority in the world and also give his views on Northern Ireland’s transport infrastructure at the Annual Lunch on Friday 14th October at the Hilton Hotel, Belfast.

Speaking ahead of the event, Mr. Brown said: “The IoD Annual Lunch is an event that allows leaders from all business backgrounds to share ideas, make connections and find solutions to the challenges we face in cities large and small. Business, Government and transport can work together to help boost jobs, growth and opportunities across the country.”

Under his stewardship, not only have passenger numbers increased on the London Network, but Mike has been been at the forefront of pushing through the next wave of modernisation and improvement at TfL.”
