The church’s men’s fellowship has extended Christian outreach well beyond the village with its recent highly successful Men’s Weekend at Castledillon in Armagh, which saw around 100 men from across Northern Ireland enjoy a range of sporting activities as well as spiritual guidance sessions.
Such has been the success of this venture, which included guest speaker Pete McKenzie from America, that the camping weekend will become an annual event in the fellowship’s programme. Evangelical outreach was the core theme of the weekend, which provided many opportunities for the fellowship’s born again believers to share the Gospel message and their testimonies with other men.
Among the activities at Castledillon lake were; fishing, clay pigeon shooting, water sports including raft racing, canoeing, as well as races on speed boats and jet skis, and an evening hog roast.
As well as the monthly meeting for Christian worship, food, testimonies and guest speakers, the Men’s Fellowship also organised karting trips, a visit to Crumlin Road Gaol, and breakfasts and lunches.
