DUP MLA Emma Pengelly has firmly rejected claims that she changed her surname to '˜Little Pengelly' to give her an alphabetical advantage in the forthcoming election.

Former DUP Belfast councillor Ruth Patterson said there had been claims – which she did not believe – that this was “a ploy to get above me on the ballot paper”.

However, Ms Little Pengelly hit back that her Twitter handle has been ‘Little Pengelly’ since before she was even an MLA and that it was “a nonsense to suggest this is a recent change”, adding that “the facts speak for themselves”.
