In the latest sign of chaos in the EU referendum Leave campaign, the DUP said it is “appalled” with the Go Movement for claiming one of its MPs was part of the group.

The Go Movement had announced that Eurosceptics from the Grassroots Out campaign, Ukip and Leave.EU would come together under its umbrella and apply for designation as the official Leave campaign.

It claimed its application for Electoral Commission designation had the support of politicians from the Conservatives, Labour, Ukip and the DUP, each with their own separate Go group.

The DUP’s was to be headed up by Sammy Wilson, the movement claimed, but a party spokesman has insisted there was never any such agreement.

He said: “It’s utter codswallop.

“Sammy Wilson did not agree to set up DUP Go, there is no DUP Go.

“What’s most disappointing for us is not that they sent out a wrong press release, it’s that having agreed to change it they have gone back on their on their word.

“We are appalled with them.

“This is not the way people who want to cooperate to achieve Brexit should behave.”
