Ferry options for Northern Ireland fans making France trip

Northern Ireland fans frustrated by a shortage of flights and the threat of air traffic control strikes have been urged to consider taking a ferry option to France for Saturday's Euro 2016 tie with Wales.

There are a number of options from Stena Lane.

The first ferry is tonight, Thursday, with the only available direct sailing from Rosslare to Cherbourg departing at 8.30pm. It will see football fans arrive in France at 4.30pm tomorrow. Price from €319 single for car plus driver with additional passengers costing €38 each per adult.

The alternative route to France is via Stena Line’s Landbridge product which is available on all routes from Dublin, Rosslare and Belfast to Britain, with onward travel from Britain to Europe included in the price:

Landbridge with onward travel via DFDS (Dover to Calais/Dunkirk): single lead-in fare £119 or €148 for car plus driver

Landbridge with onward travel via Eurotunnel (Folkestone to Calais): single lead-in fare £150.50 or €183 for car plus driver

Landbridge with onward travel via Brittany Ferries (sailing to Roscoff, Cherbourg, Caen, St Malo): single lead-in fare £218 OR €273 for car plus driver
