Fire Service dealing with blaze at Lissue House

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) are dealing with a fire at Lissue House in Lisburn.

The blaze has been described by the NIFRS as “well-developed” over two floors.

A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) are currently dealing with a fire at premises at the Ballinderry Road, Lisburn area this morning (Thursday 9th June).

“Two Fire Appliances from Lisburn Fire Station and one Fire Appliance each from Cadogan and Springfield Fire Stations have been deployed to the scene.

“Firefighters are dealing with a well-developed fire on two floors of a large detached building in the area. No one was inside the premises during the fire.”

He added: “Firefighters remain at the scene and there are no further details at this stage.”

Police are also at the former children’s hospital and have warned motorists to take care on the Ballinderry Road.
