Householder injured in aggravated burglary

A householder in Coleraine was treated in hospital for a head injury after a masked man forced his way into his home and assaulted him.

The aggravated burglary took place in The Crescent area of Coleraine on May 13 around 5.25pm when the occupier of the house answered a knock to his door.

On opening the door a masked man forced his way in and assaulted him.

The man received a head injury, which required hospital treatment.

Detective Inspector Stewart would appeal to anyone who may have noticed a lone male, aged between 25-30 years old walking from The Crescent area on the path towards Harpurs Hill at around 5.25pm/5.45pm to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime at Coleraine on the non-emergency number 101.
