In pictures: Coast Road house gutted by fire

The A2 Coast Road in Larne has now re-opened to traffic after a severe house fire which gutted one house and damaged another.

A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Spokesperson said:

“We received a call this morning (April 12) at 2.19am to attend a house fire on the Coast Road, Larne.

“Two appliances from Larne Fire Station, two appliances from Ballyclare Fire Station along with an aerial appliance from Knock Fire Station attended the incident.

“A female occupier was alerted to the fire by a smoke alarm and her neighbour.

“She was out of the property before the arrival of Fire Crews.

“Firefighters dealt with a severe fire which gutted the two storey detached property and also involved an oil tank.

“The fire spread to a second property and another oil tank causing external damage to that property.

“The cause of the fire is under investigation,” she concluded.
