Man beaten with '˜metal bars' in Bushmills

The serious assault happened last night as the young man was walking along Bridge Street in the north Antrim town.

During the attack the victim suffered injuries to his arms and legs.

One of the males is described as being approximately 5ft 6ins tall and the other is described as being approximately 6ft tall. Both were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas. They made off on foot in the direction of the river.

Detective Constable Stuart Sandrey is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that will assist with the investigation to contact Detectives in Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
