Reconstruction of fatal crash which killed Syrian dentist carried out today

PSNI are today returning to the scene of a fatal crash in Lisburn which claimed life of Syrian dentist Mahfouz Baleed.

A reconstruction of the crash which claimed the life of the father-of-four will be carried out.

Mr Baleed had been cycling to work when he was involved in a collision with a lorry on March 23 on the Knockmore Road, Lisburn.

Constable Tanya Ballantyne said: “We will be at the scene of the collision between 9.00am and 1.00pm on Sunday 22 May to carry out a reconstruction. “As a result of this both the Ballinderry Road and Knockmore Road will be closed in both directions during this time.

“I would apologise in advance for any inconvenience but would continue to appeal to anyone who would have seen the cyclist or the lorry in the area to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Sprucefield Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.”
