Three held as man dies in hospital after Newtownards incident

Three people have been arrested following what police are describing as the suspicious death of a man in County Down.

It followed an incident at a property in Regent Street, Newtownards.

The man, in his 40s, was taken to hospital following an incident at Millers House in Regent Street, Newtownards, on Tuesday night.

He died from his injuries a short time later, police said, and a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

A woman aged 29 and men aged 35 and 42 have been arrested.

The officer leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Will Tate, said: “We are currently trying to establish what happened at Millers House last night that led to the death of this man.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the Regent Street area around the time of the incident to contact detectives at Newtownards Police Station.”
