Two cars gutted in overnight arson attack in Glengormley

Police investigating an overnight arson attack in Glengormley have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

Two Renault cars parked on the street at Glebecoole Park were deliberately set alight shortly before 3am on Friday, May 27.

Firefighters from Glengormley Fire Station were quickly on the scene and extinguished the blaze, but both vehicles were extensively damaged.

A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service confirmed that “the incident is being treated as deliberate.”

A PSNI spokesperson said they are still trying to establish a motive for the attack and have appealed for anyone with relevant information to contact investigating officers at Newtownabbey Station on 101.
