After dominating the skyline of Belfast since November, this week the Blackford Dolphin rig was towed out of the city.
Bigger than Samson or Goliath, Harland and Wolff’s famous cranes, she had been visible from all four corners of the city – particularly at night, when she was bathed in light.
Before coming to Belfast she had been stationed off the coast of Brazil.
Following her re-fit, which was originally expected to end in February but had been extended, she is set to go to the North Sea.
She left Belfast Lough on Tuesday afternoon.
