1000 competitors get down and dirty for charity

One thousand people have got down and dirty for a great cause - and with hopes of smashing last year’s fundraising total of over £27,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Competitors came from all over Northern Ireland as well as the Republic of Ireland, England, Scotland, Germany and

the US to compete in the wacky race at Foymore Lodge, Portadown.

Professional athletes, casual joggers and people who are just a bit bonkers made their way across four and half miles of bogs and ponds, under cargo nets, across monkey bars and over inflatable obstacles all in aid of charity partner Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Due to the extraordinary public demand a new McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Mud Madness event will be held on Sunday September 14.

Entries are now open, with 100 early-bird spaces available at www.myraceentries.co.uk/mudmadness.
