The PSNI has said that a “series of malicious communications to schools across Northern Ireland” has been made today.

Police gave no details of the content of the messages, but said there is no reason to believe they are terrorist related.

The force said they are currently working to “establish the facts”.

It said: “We continue to investigate who is responsible and whether these incidents are linked to similar calls made to seven schools earlier this week.”

On Tuesday, police had also issued a very statement about a “series of malicious communications to schools across Northern Ireland”.

At that time, police had added: “We will liaise with other UK police services who have received similar calls, to investigate who is responsible and whether these incidents are linked.

“Anyone with information should contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
