Singing star Joe McElderry surprised young fans in Northern Ireland on Wednesday when he flew in to announce he will be singing in the forthcoming Frank Carson tribute gala.
Joe, a past winner of both The X-factor and Pop-star to Opera Star, made time to meet young people connected with the two charities which will benefit from the show: the Integrated Education Fund and CLIC Sargent Homes from Home Appeal.
At Priory Integrated College in Holywood he heard songs from local primary school choirs and led a workshop with senior pupils studying music and drama. Joe heard how the College is bringing young people of all backgrounds and traditions together to learn and achieve in an environment of equality and respect.
